What is GT-SHPE?

GT SHPE is proud to be one of the largest organizations on campus, and we are constantly trying to expand our reach on campus. Here are some of the ways we make our mark on our members and our community

Professional Events We host weekly meetings with various companies along with countless afternoon workshops to give our members the opportunity to build their network and improve their professional skills
Social Events We host many bonding events throughout the school year to help build friendships within our chapter and relieve school stress
Mentorship We host a program called PEP that connects newer students with a mentor within their major that can help guide them through the ins and outs of Georgia Tech
Community Outreach Our SHPE Jr. team is responsible for planning various events with high schools that have a high number of Latino students to get them excited about higher education and possibly guide them into a career in STEM

5 Pillars of SHPE

Within our organization, we have 5 pillars of responsibility that we work very hard to uphold. These pillars are the foundation of our society and help promote the rich, strong culture of personal growth and sense of social responsibility.

Academic Development One of our priorities is to make sure all our members have the support they need to succeed in their classes
Leadership Development We urge our members to become leaders in the community, whether that be through board positions or their own initiatives
Professional Development We want all our members to have fulfilling careers after leaving Georgia Tech, so we make it our mission to help them connect with SHPE National's expansive network
Community Service Our members are involved in the community and make an effort to pay forward all the benefits they receive from our society through volunteer work
Chapter Development Many of our members consider SHPE part of their legacy on campus, which is why we are constantly trying to improve our organization with fresh events and ideas
